Four of the global mobility industry's biggest annual events, spanning Singapore, London and Boston, all land inside a six week window this September and October. After that, the major conference calendar effectively goes silent until spring 2027, right as most companies lock in next year's relocation budgets.

Every autumn, mobility teams treat conference season as optional, something to attend if the calendar allows. That assumption gets more expensive every year, because the industry’s live intelligence window and the corporate budget cycle no longer overlap. Miss six weeks in September and October, and there is nowhere left to sense check assumptions before they get written into a 2027 policy nobody revisits until next autumn.

Four Events, One Narrow Window

Between 3 September and 15 October, the sequence runs FEM APAC Summit and EMMAs in Singapore on 3 September, Expat Academy’s Annual Conference in London on 21 September, Worldwide ERC’s Global Workforce Symposium in Boston from 7 to 9 October, and FEM EMEA Summit and EMMAs in London on 14 and 15 October. Nothing at comparable scale follows until FEM Europe in spring 2027.

Treat October As Your Deadline, Not December

If your 2027 policy conversations start in November, the intelligence gathering has to happen before mid October, not during the budget meeting itself.

  • Book at least one September or October event now, prioritising the region your assignee population is most concentrated in.
  • Send a colleague even if you cannot attend personally, and build a short internal debrief into your November planning cycle.
  • Between conferences, use FEM’s regional chapter meetings and Expat Academy’s smaller sessions to keep a thread of intelligence running through November and December.

The mobility conference calendar is not spread evenly across the year, it is compressed into six weeks that finish before most companies even start their 2027 budget conversations. Treat mid October as your real deadline for gathering outside intelligence, not a scheduling nicety.
